The mill Convert
The manufacturer was the sior Ausher between 1770 and 1777. At that time the river ran at the bottom of the houses of the old Pont d' Ain, in the place of the gardens and the court of the mill " Convert".
The Ain formed three islands then.
This is the arm of the first island which made turn the mill. A large dam was built to keep all the force of Ain in low waters. The torrent-like floods made breaches constantly and required a permanent work. The channel was widened to allow a more important arrival of the water.
This first mill had, three sets of grinding stones:
- To grind wheat
- For rye, the barley, buckwheat or the buckwheat
- The third reserved for the corn whose flour passed to the furnace, is called " gaudes" food day labourer for the lunches and suppers.

Notre Dame of the Assumption
The additional church of Pont-D'Ain (the Notre-Dame vault) was damaged by a rising of Ain and the heart of Philibert the Beautiful, preserved in a lead ballot box, carried by the floods. It was the subject of important installations at the XVII century but proved soon too small.
An extraordinary imposition from 1856 to 1897, plus a local subscription made it possible to consider a new construction.
The church of Romance style was blessed on December 24, 1872 and devoted the following year.
The first Notre Dame church of the place of the Composts was built as from 1787, but it was shown not very solid so that in 1845, it was necessary to think of a total rebuilding.
