This circuit alternates portions in balcony with many pines suspended on the top of the shore, the points of view privileged on the rock of the Two Brothers and the Cape Sicié, and of the routes in forest. It will lead you point of Marégau, astonishing geological landscape with its ochre sandstone escarpments, its view-points, a surface of picnic… jusqu' with the beaches of Coudoulière and Cavalas.
This path profits from some built and natural patrimonial elements, of which the fort of Saint-Elme, extremely of the Large Beam, the fort of Coudoulière and the beautiful pine forest Saint-Asile.
1 the path begins at the end of the small wearing of Saint-Elme, at the end of the nautical base " Méduse".
2 You will borrow staircases on the right of a blockhouse, then you will walk on on an exceptional course of rollers ochres polished by the sea. Caution! When the mistral blows, the sea comes to beat the rocks and this section becomes slipping. It is strongly recommended of equipping with shoes of excursion. This course escarpés' stretch on 300 m and offers to you reflections between the red of the sandstones and the black of volcanic repercussions. Perhaps you will see beautiful sea anemones and coloured algae.
3 Beyond you will borrow staircases on your left. You will arrive known R a surface of picnic made up of beautiful umbrella pines before reaching the beach of Saint-Asile.
4 Skirt the beach and follow the direction " Extremely of the renardière, beach of Coudoulière". You will walk on then among the sisal plants and the salsepareille. The American sisal plant is particularly present on this path.
5 You will go down in a split from rollers then you will take again staircases to join the avenue of Languedoc.
6 at the end of this avenue you will take a dead end on your line and you will arrive at a barrier that you will circumvent. After a a little hard rise you will arrive at the point of Marégau. A small pause to admire the landscape thanks to a table of the orientation impose. A full panorama of the rocks of the Two Brothers while passing by the course Sicié and the islands of Hyères is revealed.
7 Chemin making you will continue to arrive on a road which you will cross. Take on your line. You will pass in front of the fort of the Large Beam, going back to 1882 to arrive on a slope where the various species of the scrubland are found. Develop then the telegraphic one, the arborescent heather, all the species of cistuses, the cane-apple bush, the cade and chèvrefeuille.
8 You will reach a barrier, circumvent. You will leave a center of shooting on your line. You will borrow a vegetable raidillon. On the left you will be able to see the pier carrying out jusqu' with the Royal Tower, some military ships, and the wearing of Saint-Mandrier, " the Saint-Georges" Hollow.
9 maritime pines raise then above vertiginous cliffs, the prickly peartrees recover the slopes which descend towards the sea. The passage is narrow and sloping, take care not too to approach you cliffs. You will walk on in overhang before d' to reach the small beach of Coudoulière.
10 do not miss the turning by the fort of Coudoulière (external visit only) dissimulated behind a small hill above the shore. This work was intended to cover two of small which borders the peninsula. In summer, do not miss the festival of professional theatre which occurs in terrace. Terrace of the fort you will appreciate the splendid points of view on the broad one and the rocks of the Two Brothers.
11 At the end of the beach of Coudoulière, pebble beach (coudoulets into of Provence) which accomodates a rescue station at the beautiful season, to take again the path which borders the shore after having to borrow staircases to arrive at the beach of Cavalas.
The return can to carry out by the same route or l' interior. Beach of Cavalas you will be able is:
- To join the port of the village and to take the maritime shuttle towards Toulon,
- If you have time you will be able to continue towards the Franco-italien cemetery and to admire the pyramid Latouche Treville, then to join the port of the village,
- To turn over towards the Pine Roland by taking the footpath which crosses the forest (Ardissone way) and to follow the tracks arranged for a sporting crapa.
