Tourism in gannat

The park used to be the private garden of Gabriel Delarue, a Deputy and Mayor in the 19th century. Today, the Delarue Mansion hosts exhibitions in the summer, games for children and a bandstand. Free entrance all year round.

The Yves Machelon Municipal Museum is a museum dedicated to the local history from prehistory to WWII. The four mains themes are: Religious art with the 'évangéliaire carolingien' dating from the 9th century, craftswork and local people's traditions, Resistance and horse carriages and saddles from the castle of Veauce. 

On streams such as the Coignant, the Sigillon and the Gouënant there are numerous fishing ponds. Thus, around Gannat and the Bourbon hedge farm lands, there are about ten ponds located in these valleys.

These hidden landscapes are unique and are the evidence of the former local landscapes now disappeared among the cereal crops. These ponds are now a haven for rare species and shelter a rich wildlife.

The chalky hills are located on the area of Gannat with 'Mont Libre' and 'Les Chapelles', Mazerier, Saulzet and Jenzat. They can be seen from afar and offer great views to the visitors, on the plain and the Bourbon Mountain as well as on the Sioule Valley.
