Couronne city

The church Saint-Jean-Baptist of XI century has a beautiful frontage with blind arcades as an elegant polygonal bell-tower with arrow with stone scales.

The current church with nave of 6 spans arched in cradle in semicircular arch on beams covered by a stone cradle. There would have been a building before the year 1000 in the place of the current church and of the employed again elements of the primitive building are visible in the current church.

The old cemetery has a Romance gate.

The vault of Mougnac is a church of XII century which was ruined in 1563. It was not completely abandoned in 1621, then dated September 5, the parochial registers teach us that it is a baptism in the differently known vault under the name of " is made  Vault of Mr Saint-Nicolas" located at the village of Mougnac, parish of Saint-Jean-de-la Pallud of La Couronne

The castle of the Oisellerie is located on the commune of La Couronne, close to Angouleme in Charente; it shelters the agricultural college of Oisellerie and the Departmental Center of Teaching Documentation.

The first castle which constitutes one of the wings is a multi-story building, with the sloping roof covered with tiles punts; a square turret which contains the spiral staircase presents later crenels.

Two turrets form the angles of the primitive court; they found their roofs with pepper plantation and is taken in the commun runs. A square house was built later between the square turret and the southern pinion.

The large northern wing, the cylindrical gross tower and the rectangular house are medium of XVI century. Some of the roofs are covered with tiles punts, others of the slates.

The entry presents a door pedestrian and a riding door surmounted by let us merlons and crenels.

The Notre-Dame abbey of La Couronne is a Benedictine abbey located in La Couronne in Charente. In ruins, it testifies to the introduction of the Gothic style into the West

The part currently visible completion date of XII century, except for the two Western spans of the nave and the frontage gothic scripts. These buildings represent the forms of the Gothic of the West.
