L'Apothicairerie de l'hôtel-Dieu de Mâcon
The Apothecary of the Hotel Dieu of Macon is located in a hospital established around the year 1770, according to the plans of the architect of the Pantheon. The hospital is still active, and the pharmacy has a very good conservation despite its age.
The apothecary is held in a room furnished with Louis XV furniture. It is impressive to behold its work plans and large cabinets in walnut, heavily decorated and enriched with elm and ash. The drawers built into the pillars are identified with the names of items they contain, whether of opium, ivory, silk cocoon or other product. It is also possible to see on the shelves behind the glass doors, pots owned pharmacies to pharmacists of the eighteenth century.
The structure and aesthetics of this place, it concerns the furniture or pottery, evidence of great social importance attributed to him.
