Basilique Notre-Dame de Fourvière
The Notre-Dame de Fourvière, which dominates much of Lyon from the top of the Fourvière hill is topped by a monumental golden virgin.
Built in 1896 by Pierre Bossan, the monument pays tribute to the Virgin Mary, whose cult has lasted for centuries. The Edice has many styles. Outside fairly simple objects with lush, opulent interiors of Byzantine inspiration.
