Citadelle de Bastia
Built in the fifteenth century, the citadel of Bastia is a real district called Terra Nova, in which visitors enter through the pink front door Louis XVI. The fortress near a dungeon, a bell tower and the ramparts towers above Terra Nova, the old harbor, the mountains and the coastline.
The fortress now houses a museum with collections dedicated to four themes: birth and urban growth, center of powers, cultural center and the Palace of Governors. The museum also houses temporary exhibitions.
Protected by its ramparts, the citadel is accessible through the door Louis XVI. Visitors can also enter in the enclosure through the garden Romieu by trails, pleasant park amount gently into the citadel. Bastia with its cracked houses, its wrought iron balconies, and the laundry drying in the windows, has an air of Italy.
