Château d'Ancy-le-Franc

Masterpiece of symmetry and elegance, this Burgundian palace by the Italian architect Sébastiano Serlio, contains one of the widest and most beautiful art collection of fresco painting from the Renaissance period. A certain number of the Castle d'Ancy-le-Franc's staterooms have been decorated by famous italian painters of l'Ecole de Fontainebleau such as Le Primatice, Niccolo dell'Abate and Ruggiero de Ruggieri.

After inherinting his mother's lands, Antoine III de Clermont asks Sébastiano Serlio, Francois Ier's famous architect, to build the Castle d'Ancy-le-Franc. The monument, made of burgundian limestone, is a quadrilateral circling an elegant court of honor whose facades are decorated with pilasters and alcoves. The decoration of the inner appartments compound of scenes with grotesques, mythological stories, coffered ceiling and marbled floor will certainly ravish you.

Classified as historic monument since 1983 and property of the company Paris investir SAS, the Castle d'Ancy-le-Franc has been restaured for ten years. You can book a guided tour, why not followed with a wine degustation!
