Vendée is a french department that is part of the region Pays de la Loire. It is surrounded by the departments of Loire-Atlantique, Maine-et-Loire, Deux-Sèvres and Charente-Maritime. It is also bordered by the Mediterranean Sea. Main cities are Roche-sur-Yon, Fontenay-le-Comte and Les Sables-d'Olonne.

The main tourist attractions are located in the ‘Bocage’ with ‘Cinescenie’ and the ‘Grand Parc’ in Puy du Fou, the south of the department also called the green Venice and the town of Roche-sur-Yon.

Numerous festivals take place in Vendée each year such as the Festival Face et Si, near La Roche sur Yon, the ‘Festival de Poupet’ in Saint-Malô-du-Bois, the ‘Primptemps du Livre de Montaigu’, the Festival ‘La Septième vague’ in Brétignolles-sur-Mer, the Festival Simenon in Sables-d'Olonne and the Festival Talus Talents in Sallertaine.
