Musée de La Roche-sur-Yon

The Museum of La Roche-sur-Yon is an art museum, created in the mid 19th century. Visitors will discover works in the field of painting, graphic arts and contemporary photography. The collection of paintings and drawings includes over 2,500 works and collection of contemporary photography has no fewer than 180 works. They cover a period of 70 years to today.

The museum is housed in rooms too small to display its permanent collection, which is why it is proposed to the visitors 4-5 exhibitions a year to exploit the different works. For 2012, a few themes will revolve around Japan, landscape photography, or the artist performing. Some of these exhibitions are in partnership with cultural institutions of the city, such as art library, conservatory and school of art.
