Tourism Souvigny
Souvigny City is located in the Allier in the Auvergne region. It lies at the heart of the old province of Bourbonnais.
Its heritage, marked by the fact that it is the birthplace of the House of Bourbon, is strongly influenced by its relationship to the abbey of Cluny and by the existence of the Dukes of Bourbon.
Souvigny has won several titles, in 1993, the "great regional site of the Auvergne" and in 2003 the "great Romanesque sanctuary of Auvergne" which enabled the restoration of the priory church.
Many museums, gardens and exhibitions welcoming visitors for a cultural trip. This is a great place for all lovers of Romanesque buildings, hiking and castles.
City Souvigny is finally a welcoming place for many events, living plants, a flea market, a medieval fair, the musical days of autumn and also the regional exhibition of old books.
