Tourism Provence
Provence is a geographical name which covers roughly the southeastern part of France's, from the lower left bank of the Rhône in the west to the border with Italy to the east. It is bordered to the south by the Méditerranée sea. Provence is a region with favorable climate, benefiting from the influence of the Méditerranean sea.
The land is hilly with the Alps particularly impressive in its central and southern Alpes to the east and north-east. Its coastline from Marseille to Menton is rather steep (Calanque- Maures - Esterel). Plateau Valensole – Plan of Canjuers - Plateau d'Albion. The western region is marked by the plain of La Crau and the Camargue are the only real flat areas of the Provence region.
