The former residence of the counts and Dukes of Savoie, it is made of a group of oustanding buildings dating from the Middle Ages to the 19th century. THE CHAMBERY CHIMES : Set up in the Yolande Tower of the Castle's Gothic Holly Chapel, the chimes with all their seventy bells, are in the first ranks in Europe and in the world.

Located in the former Franciscan convent, this Museum houses many artistically and historically valuable objects. One of the places to be seen in Chambéry, it recalls the particular history of Savoie. Jean-Jacques Rousseau Museum, Les Charmettes : Country house where Jean-Jacques Rousseau stayed from 1736 to 1742 with Madame de Warens. A museum rich in literary associations, where the shade of Jean-Jacques Rousseau is still lingering on.
