Two museums are located in Villeneuve-sur-Yonne:

• Musée-Galerie Carnot housed in the Joigny's gate

The Villeneuve-sur-Yonne Museum is now housed in the former buildings of the Music Conservatory, next to which it had stood since the mid-1980s. Following the conservatory fire in 2012, the space was rebuilt in compliance with accessibility standards while preserving its Second Empire façades.

Since 2017, it has provided a museum and heritage space dedicated to housing the town’s historical collections, as well as numerous temporary exhibitions by contemporary artists in its first-floor galleries and in the area adjoining the Porte de Joigny.
