Touring thiézac

Out of the five mills that existed on the stream of Nierveze, The Mill of Nierveze is the last one standing. It is dating from the 18th century and was renovated from 2000 to 2005.

The oven of Nierveze is a typical baking oven of the mountains, it was built in 1775 and has been remaining the same since then. Its roof is made of Lauzes (a typical stone of the region). The baking oven is used once a year to bake bread during the Bread celebration in June.

The Chaumiere of Granier (Cottage of Granier) is perched at 1050 m high and faces the Puy Griou above the Cere Valley. The small farm/cottage is open for visits where many tools, old objects and old family photos are displayed..

The Notre-Dame-de-Consolation was built on the site where the virgin appeared to pilgrims. Ann of Austria, who was desperate to produce an heir for the throne, came here to give her devotion to the virgin. A year later Louis XIV was born...

Inside the chapel there are polychromes frescoes and about forty medals dedicated to the Virgin.
