Barneville-Carteret
The Barneville's haven is the heart of this town, it breathes following the tides' rythm and becomes a lake when the sea covers it.
3 villages face it :
- Carteret is a fishing port and a marina which offers a shelter to the fishermen and sailing boats' teams.
- Barneville, particularly busy on the Saturdays thanks to the market. This village is built around its fortified romanesque church.
- Barneville-plage, la "vacancière", is built between the haven and its long sandy beach.

Monuments
The Old Church (listed site) : In a virgin territory with no building, stand the remainings of a church dedicated to Saint-Germain-le-Scot, who evangelized the Cotentin during the 5th century.
- Saint-Louis Church : originally a seigniorial chapel.
- Saint-Germain-d'Auxerre Church : one of the most interesting chuches in the Cotentin.
- Saint-Germain-le-Scot Church : the current Carteret's parish church.
- Graffard Manor House : Built in 1574-1575, the current manor house replaces a fortified house occupied by the English people during the Hundred Years' War.
- Carteret's Manor House : built in the early 18th century. This house is famous as a holiday resort to Jules Barbey d'Aurevilly. He placed a part of one of his novels, "La Vieille Maîtress" ("The Old Mistress"), in this manor house.

The anicent districts
- The ancient Ormes' houses wear, above the entrance doors, a plate showing the name of its first owner as well as the year of its building. They are mainly boats' captains' houses.
- The old Barneville market town gathers the remaining of an ancient feodal clot, a soil and wood fortification, the fortified church's tower and several buildings from the late 15th century.
- In the past, the Rivers' village sheltered a population of seamen and fishermen. Nowadays, it is very charming.
- The Tôt Village : crossed by the Gerfleur river, this village shelters the remainings of an ancient mill and a washtub, where "Mère Denis" did her job as a washer-woman.
- Le Valnotte : if you follow the Toulorge Hamlet, you will find a nice place where you can picnic and enjoy a panoramic view over the beaches.
