Tourism in marcenat

Marcenat hosts the orthodox monastery of the Traverse, founded in 1988. The Znaménié monastery or the Signe monastery was sacred in 1996. It is attached to the patriachy of Moscow. Its church is dedicated to all saints.

In the Volcanoes park in Auvergne, the traditional farm in Haute-Auvergne only has an opening on the south facade of the building. The ground floor serves as the living room and stables. Upstairs, was the hay storage area which also insulated the ground floor from the cold. The roof was made of slates.

INRA stands for 'Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique'. It is a public research dedicated to agriculture, food industry and territory management in order to promote quality environment and food. The 'Domaine of Marcenat' is an agronomical research system set up on the national territory.

The church in Marcenat was built around 1450. The altar pieces are dating from 1709. The bell tower was built in 1854. The church in Marcenat has a listed and restored art piece collection set up by the Heritage association.
