City of bruniquel

Bruniquel: in the crossroads of Quercy, Rouergue and country Albigensian, the village supervises top of its castles, the confluence of l' Aveyron and of Vère. It is one of the most Beautiful Villages of France.

The castle of Bruniquel is a french castle located in the commune of Bruniquel, the department of Tarn-et-Garonne and the Midi-Pyrenees area. The castle is located on a rock peak, with cliffside on the edges of the Aveyron river. It is located at 5 km of Négrepelisse.

The “old castle” preserved its keep of XIInd century and its ramparts of XIIIrd century, time which it belonged to the counts de Toulouse, and its main building of XIIIrd century. The “young castle” was built between 1484 and 1510 and underwent rehandlings for the period baroque with internal installations, borings of windows with XVIIth and XVIIIth centuries and the addition of a door carved in 1683 at the entry of its staircase.
