Details	Caussade is located in the department of Tarn-et-Garonne associated with the Midi-Pyrenees area. Caussade, old city of white Quercy or Bas-Quercy, is called “the city of the hat”, because of the great tradition hatter. In particular, the straw hat made in Caussade knows an apogee commercial at the end of XIXth and the beginning of the XXth century.

In the middle of the Country Midday-Quercy, Caussade has a strategic position in the crossroads of the slopes of Quercy, valley of the Garonne and Gorges of Aveyron.

Walk in Caussade

Strong Protestant place at the time of the wars of religion, Caussade is reconquered by the catholics who establish a convent in 1683 to with it. The tower of Arles dates from the 13th century. rectangular House-turn of plan, it was probably built by Gaubert de Lalo and belonged in particular to the Duke of Sully, Seigneur of Caussade and with Maximilien Béthune, companion of Henri IV. It shelters a historié decoration and constitutes a remarkable witness of art of living in Quercy in the Middle Ages. The interior of this tower and in particular its murals are in the course of restoration.

The Notre-Dame church of the Assumption: primitive building of the 16th century, there remains only the high brick bell-tower 54 meters and Toulouse type. The remainder of the building was rebuilt in style neogothic at the 19th century. The old district shelters hurdy-gurdies residences of 13th, and 17th and 18th centuries.

The Park of Lère: vast raised site made up of 5 lakes inviting to fishing and with strolls; on the spot: space picnic; plays children; course health.

The church of Caussade

The church of Caussade, with its single nave and its bedside with cut side, is characteristic of the southernmost Gothic. The polygonal bell-tower of Toulouse type points out also the entry in Aquitanian countries of brick and molasse of the clays.
Caussade becomes since 1560 a Protestant country house, in l' orbits of Montauban, the capital of Réformés South-west. Besieged, the small fortified town calvinist goes to the troops of Louis XIII during the first countryside of 1621.
