Caussade

In the middle of the Country Midday-Quercy, Caussade has a strategic position in the crossroads of the slopes of Quercy, valley of the Garonne and Gorges of Aveyron.

Strong Protestant place at the time of the wars of religion, Caussade is reconquered by the catholics who establish a convent in 1683 to with it. The tower of Arles dates from the 13th century. rectangular House-turn of plan, it was probably built by Gaubert de Lalo and belonged in particular to the Duke of Sully, Seigneur of Caussade and with Maximilien Béthune, companion of Henri IV. It shelters a historié decoration and constitutes a remarkable witness of art of living in Quercy in the Middle Ages. The interior of this tower and in particular its murals are in the course of restoration.

The Notre-Dame church of the Assumption: primitive building of the 16th century, there remains only the high brick bell-tower 54 meters and Toulouse type.
