Castle of Genas

Genas: The Marquis of Genas are known in the region of Lion since XIème century. A commune, near to Satolas, still bears the name of this family of which several members illustrated under Louis XI and François Ist This big family from the Dauphine installed in Valence (26) in XIV century and was owner of the castle of Cléon d' Andran to the XVII and XVIII centuries.

Few documents, concerning the construction of the building, are still consultable, because the communal records were destroyed twice: in 1621 and 1648 during the Wars of religion. This castle is a private property; only the park can be visited at the time of the National Days of the Inheritance.
