The mill of Gué Sainte-Marie is built at the end of the century. Indeed, the chart atlas of the general advice of Vienne of 1886 does not speak. At its beginnings, it produced flour to make the bread; it has two pairs of grinding stones (for the first grinding and for the fragments to make the flour with cattle) and its walls still carried the legs to sealing an old bucket line chain serving a bolter. What can astonish, this is to see at the end of the XIX century, one built a windmill exactly as with the Middle Ages and since the crusaders of 1099 had brought back from there the technology of the Holy Land (that is the reason why these mill-turns were also called Mill-Turkish or turquois). .

The only progress whose the mill was equipped with the Ford Holy Marie, they are the wings articulated out of wood ordered of the interior of this building. These wings, invented by Berton in 1848, avoided with the miller climbing on his yards for carguer or spreading out a sail, which was long (it was necessary to stop four times the mill to reach each aerofoil) and sometimes dangerous. Since 1998, the mill of the Ford Holy Marie is the property of the commune of Trois-Moutiers and, since, was restored.

Inhabited from the prehistoric times, the soil of Les Trois Moutiers preserved several monuments megalitic: the menhir (or “chillou”) of Courçu, which is drawn up in the medium of a moor where the thorny gorses reach the height of the trees, the dolmens of Vaon and the Red Door, one and the another good preserved, as a group of two dolmens, located in the park of the castle of Rock-Vernaize (the legend said in connection with these two last qu' “enormous and diabolic snake, hidden guard of the monument, was to punish of death, in the year, the bold ones which would dare to disturb the rest of its retirement”).
