A lively village in provincial France

Sorges possesses a magnificent Romanesque church dating from the 12th century, vestiges of an medieval fortified castle, several historical mansions and domains from medieval and Renaissance time.

There is also a 40 km long worth of footpaths, a path going through the 'truffieres', a sport and leisure area with a swimming pool, tennis, skateboard park and so on).

Sorges is located on one of the main path of St James's way (the road of Vezelay).

Discover the old mansions and houses

Sorges used to be a very populated parish. Most of the old houses have remained the same although they have been restored.

Jaillac is a medieval castle dating from the 15th century, the eastern 'tower is dating from the 10th century, the western tower is dating from 12th century. 75 meurtrières' still remain. The access to the castle is via a basket handle shape gate. Inside there is a courtyard from where one can see the dwelling part.

Guided tour around the truffle discovery paths

The truffle discovery paths is the continuing path from the house of the truffle since it was founded.

Located in the heart of Sorges since 1982, this museum gives the most up to date informations on truffle to its visitors. It also has a documents library for searchers and for those who truly have a passion for truffles.

The truffles discovery path crosses a chalky soil land of the Causses of Perigord.
