2nd imperial jubilee

October 21, 2011, Rueil-Malmaison has launched the "Imperial City" brand with the cities of St Cloud, Compiegne and Fontainebleau and which will soon be joined municipalities historically linked to Napoleon and the First and Second Empire. This brand will give value of the heritage assets of the city and develop a tourism policy based on these gains and the development of special events.

With its heritage and its rich hours Rueil-Malmaison will revisit this millennium with passion. Seeking to preserve such a heritage of history, the municipality is committed to give value to this imperial witness in the month to come.
To shape this strong historical identity for the city, several events will be suggest to Rueillois passionate about history but also for those who want to discover this aspect of the city.

Through these conferences, interviews, concerts, exhibitions, screenings, we invite you to find the entire memory of Josephine and Napoleon Bonaparte, legendary couple whose destiny was closely linked to our city. All these initiatives as artistic and intellectual lead to a great celebration of historical reconstruction at National Heritage Days 2014(September 20 to 21). For this first Imperial Jubilee, Rueil will live in the colors of the Empire.
