Musée de Vire

Vire Museum is located in a general hospital of the eighteenth century in Vire.

After a fire in 1925 and the bombing of 1944, the museum will lose much of its collections. But thanks to the conservative Mr. Lesage, the museum will make a new start. The latter will acquire furniture, costumes auss but works of art.

Vire Museum will be opened in 1972. Today, the collections cover many topics such as ethnography, fine arts, decorative arts, or the history of the city.
