Musée d'Art et d'Histoire de Saint-Brieuc


The Musée d’Art et d’Histoire of Saint-Brieuc open since 1886, lies within the premises of the former municipal police, in the heart of the city of Saint-Brieuc. In the museum one can discover the fascinating history, daily life and traditions of Britanny’s past and of its present. The Musée d’Art et d’Histoire welcomes visitors in two separate pavilions. The first pavilion extends over two levels, displaying temporary exhibitions, whilst the second pavilion has three floors and is devoted to permanent collections.

Through everyday objects, models, paintings or movies, one can discover the history, folk arts and the main characters of the Cotes d'Armor department, since its establishment until the first decades twentieth century. The Musée d’Art et d’Histoire of Saint-Brieuc displays collections of artists like Mathurin Méheut and René-Yves Creston and paintings inspired by Breton. The museum also offers guided tours and workshops.
