Santon fair

Taking place on the Place Charles-de-Gaulle (just behind the Vieux-Port), it is one of the oldest traditions in Marseille, dating back more than two centuries, and bringing together illustrious families of santonniers.

It is even the oldest santon fair in Provence.

You will find a multitude of original santons and of course beautiful old-fashioned cots.

Every year, the Santon fair is inaugurated to the sounds of tambourines and the music of folk groups.

This tradition is due to the popular fervour for the celebration of the Nativity.

From November to January.
