Tourism Noyon
The town of Noyon is located in the department of Oise in Picardy. It is near Compiegne and Pierrefonds and has a surprising wealth.
Some say it would have taken a huge compass to draw this city. Indeed the city is round, with a large circle of boulevards sessine the route of the medieval walls. Inside, the place of Gallo-Roman ramparts stands another small circle around the heart of the city.
The city was destroyed several times in the past, but was rebuilt each time. Many buildings bear witness to its rich and eventful past. Some buildings are unavoidable as the cathedral, the chapter library and city hall.
Its historical and architectural heritage is maintained and developed what has earned the city of Noyon in 1998 to obtain the label City of Art and History.
