Tourism Montauroux

Montauroux is a little Frensh district in the department of Var in the region of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur west of Cannes.

It is situated on a limestone peak between alpine foothills to the north and the river Siagne to the east. Landscape of hills and wooded hillsides ; the site of the Gorge de la Siagne is protected by Natura 2000. The natural environment is very rich with its multiple forests ; moors, rocks, rivers... Bats can be seen there. A big part of the occitan shores are at Montauroux.

Montauroux remained for a long time on the roads of Saint Jacques de Compostelle.
Following the betrayal of the Duke of Epernon in the 15th century and the destruction of the city, the montaurousians burned the effigy of the Duke during the Saint Barthélemy.
This town cultivates parfume flowers for the factories of Grasse.

A city of leisure

Many beaches are proposed where are arranged to make : pedalo, sailing and paddle. There are also fishing clubs.
Walks and bike rides are planed to discover the Var.
You can also visit chapels of the 16th and 17th century.
And for those who want to have fun, our city has an outdoor Laser Game as well as a mini golf, a parkabout and a health trail.
