Tourism Joué-lès-Tours
With a total population of 37.126 inhabitants, Joué lès Tours is the 2nd city of the department of Indre-Loire and 7th of the area Center. Strong from its 1.000 companies, including 14 of more than 100 enployed and 4 of more than 500, it is an industrial pole but also an artisanal pole: it indeed obtained in 1995 the label " town of trades d' art".
It is necessary to await the construction of the road Paris-Bordeaux (N.10) in 1746, that of Tours to Chinon (1750), and especially appearance of the railroad (Tours-Bordeaux in 1847 - Sables d' Olonne and Tours - Chateauroux, after 1870), to perceive an economic development.
The first factories are installed in 1885 (Marlin, brickyards). Others will follow: Gobel and Bouchery, after 1915, Michelin, 1961 and how much others.
