Fontainebleau is a town in the department of Seine-et-Marne in the Ile de France region. It is the largest municipality in the region.
Fontainebleau has the distinction of being covered by a forest which extends giganstesque even a few cities around. It is therefore truly in a green setting.
It has a castle where many successive kings and queens since the Middle Ages. This magnificent building is a symbol of Fontainebleau that tourists can visit through various routes, including additional visits. Many gardens to visit around the castle, like the garden of Diana, the English Garden, or the general audience.
The forest of Fontainebleau offers a space of over 25,000 hectares promenande conducive to foot, horseback or bicycle. It includes more than 1600 km of forest paths which 300 km are marked. For rock climbers, many blocks are in the forest and can engage in this activity.
Fontainebleau is the capitable the horse with its magnificent hippodrome, stadium and sports center equestrian riding military. If you like this animal, this is a place for you, because you can attend many horse demonstrations.
