Musée de la musique mécanique
The Museum of Mechanical Music created by a group of enthusiasts in the winter sports resort of Les Gets, hosts a collection of 550 mechanical musical instruments. These unique items are gathered in a magnificient 16th century house where they are displayed in different rooms, according to the time context of their creation and use.
These carillons, street organs, mechanical pianos, gramophones and jukeboxes, all telling their own story, will please your eyes and your ears. In addition to the inside museum, a carousel has been set up in the City Hall square and a mechanical Philharmonic Organ gives concerts in the church. Finally, every two years, Les Gets hosts the International Festival of Mechanical Music, which brings together more than 400 organs players and street singers from many countries. Thanks to the festival, the public discovers in a different way the instruments displayed in the museum.
