Cathédrale Saint-Pierre, Saint-Paul et Saint-André
The Cathedral of St. Peter, St. Paul and St. Andrew of Saint_Claude obtained the title of cathedral in 1742. However, its origins date back to the fourteenth century when she was a monastery, the Abbey Saint-Oyend.
October 30, 1906, this impressive building was classified as historical monuments. Originally there were two churches that were dedicated to St. Oyand and the three apostles, Peter, Paul and Andrew. But the religious history and the needs of restoration and maintenance of these churches have given rise to this cathedral. Its construction, as the abbaye experienced some slowdowns, but came to an end in the fourteenth century.
Today, visitors can admire the magnificent cathedral that stands proudly in Saint-Claude.
