Cathédrale Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption
At the site of the cathedral and the bishop stood a monastery founded by disciples of St. Philbert de Noirmoutier, in the late seventh century. The Benedictine monks have built at the end of the XIth century, an abbey which there remains only the north transept of the Romanesque style.
Instead of Sochet Keys, outside the cathedral, we see a crane in three levels, with elegant arches. The first level of the storied eardrums were inserted in the semicircular arches. In the center is Christ blessing surrounded by two animal symbols of St. Luke (bull) and St. Mark (lion). On the left, you can guess the pilgrims sat a bishop is right on with a disciple.
