Fort de Joux
Fort de Joux is part of La Cluse-et-Mijoux. This is an example of military architecture developed between the Middle Ages until the nineteenth century. Moreover, it is classified as a historic monument since July 18, 1996.
The medieval tower and the west wall of the third enclosure are the oldest parts of the castle. Before any built the first enclosure, the tower of the horseshoe, the powder magazine.
Official visits began only in 1958. Note that a weapons museum is located on the first floor of the dungeon.

September to 15 November and from April to June, fixed departure times: 10:30 to 11:15 - 14:30 - 3:15 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
In July and August: Departure to visit about every ½ hour. Reception open from 9:30 to 18h.
