The Château de Combourg was built from the 11th century until the 15th century. It is located halfway from Rennes and Saint-Malo, in Brittany.
The fame of the castle is due to the fact that the great french novelist Chateaubriand spent a part of is youth living there, and immortalized the place in his autobiography «Mémoires d’outre-tombe».
According to the legend, and Chateaubriand talks about it in his book, the castle is haunted by a former lord of Combourg.
