Abbatiale Sainte-Valérie
The Abbey Sainte Valerie is a masterpiece of Romanesque art in the Creuse. This is one of the largest buildings in the Limousin, which houses Boisserie of great finesse, a collection of paintings and a treasure: the reliquary bust of Sainte Valerie.
It is a pilgrimage church dating from the eleventh century and twelfth century dedicated to Sainte Valerie. Portal type Limousin, garnished with sausages and columns with capitals of the Romanesque nave opens. A triumphal arch with capitals decorated with foliage and tracery, opens on the chorus. The sanctuary has three absidesLe reliquary bust in silver and gold, containing the bones of the saint, is a perfect example of goldsmith's work of the fourteenth century twists adorned with berries.
