Medieval montfort sur risle

Spend a memorable day with your family at the medieval Château de Montfort and step back into the Middle Ages to experience a fascinating chapter of history.

Soldiers and fully armed knights, gathered in a large historical re-enactment camp, will demonstrate authentic combat techniques in spectacular melee battles performed safely just a few metres from the audience.

For this special event, the castle will welcome several renowned Norman re-enactment groups, including Ran Normaund, Les Lances Normandes, Les Ours de Muspelheim, Les Gaux de France, and Historiae Vivae.

The Marchands des Mers Froides, Viking craftsmen and traders, will recreate authentic market stalls showcasing traditional craftsmanship and everyday Viking life. Visitors will discover high-quality handcrafted products faithfully inspired by the historical period.

One of the highlights of this year's event will be the spectacular mounted jousting performances by Marc Devallois' Cheval Spectacle company. Thrilling tournaments, quintain demonstrations and impressive equestrian acrobatics promise excitement and entertainment for visitors of all ages.

Another highlight will take place during the midday break, when the professional musicians of Pastourel will accompany your lunch with medieval songs and lively traditional dances, creating an unforgettable festive atmosphere.
