Concert magnificat bach, reuter, shuber

As every year, Lumières sur Notre-Dame de Cléry invites you to attend a concert of sacred choral music. This October, we will sing the Magnificat, Mary’s song of praise to her Lord. Three different settings of the Magnificat, composed by three different composers, will be performed.

Bach offers a work of great virtuosity, full of the joy of Mary’s song at the Visitation. Reuter, a contemporary British composer, presents a brilliant and richly colored orchestration, filled with gentleness. Schubert contributes a powerful and concise piece marked by great diversity.

In the basilica of Cléry, a Marian shrine specially illuminated for the occasion, more than 100 choristers, the Chapitre Orchestra with 35 musicians, and two soloists will "magnify" this passionate and feminine text under the direction of conductor Gildas Harnois.

Come in great numbers to share in the joy and experience these unique moments on October 10 and 11 at 8:30 p.m., and October 12 at 4:00 p.m.
