Tourism Agde

Founded in the sixth century BC by Phoenicians from Marseille, the city of Agde, sometimes nicknamed "the black pearl" because of its monuments built in basalt, has a long history.

Agde is a town located in the department of Herault and Languedoc-Roussillon.

City of exchange and host Agde has combined its rich historical heritage international appeal. For centuries, the city has drawn most of its revenue from maritime trade and fishing. Moreover, it is now with Le Cap d'Agde, Le Grau d'Agde and La Tamarissière a mecca of seaside tourism worldwide.

Its population may be multiplied by 10 during the summer. The town is also labeled "water station France" and "Tourism and Disability".
