Painting exhibition: 14-18 laurent tourrier
The exhibition on the theme of World War I, is in the centenary celebrations of the Great War and will take place in two stages.
From July 1 to August 31, the first exhibition of acrylic paintings and collages on thirty large format accompanied by a dozen sculptures and paintings on wood, presents the Great War in all its suffering and atrocities. These realistic and dark paintings are part of the great tradition of German expressionist painters. Blue, the color of the uniforms; red, the color of blood; black, that of violence: these colors blend to give way to scenes of trenches, faces distorted by suffering, we look ... skulls appear in place of faces: brutality, realism inconvenient but can not remain indifferent and uncaring.
Starting September 1, you will discover a second exhibition in a series of more than 200 portraits of small sizes (20x20 cm); always the same artist, belonging to a private collector, representing hairy, Zouaves, marine ... Sort of rogue's gallery of the Great War, these portraits are colored in a childish and naive style with still a certain nostalgia in looks .
The paintings will be on display in the tasting room and in the large basement of the house J. De Telmont, Monday to Friday from 9am to 12pm and 14pm to 17:30 and Saturday from 10h to 17h.
