Fpi 2026: cultural and festive activities celebrating books

Guided tours of the site, writing workshops, basketry workshops, exhibitions by associations and book professionals, an interactive show, games for children and adults, and refreshments will all be part of the festivities.

On Saturday, July 4, the Industrial Heritage Festival will take place in Baignes, organized by the AFB (Association for the Forges of Baignes). Visitors are welcome on the site from 3:00 p.m. until midnight.

This year’s theme is “Books Filling the Baskets”, featuring regional authors and writers, as well as basket makers, including Ama, who will lead a workshop offering participants a choice between two basket-making projects.

At 2:00 p.m., an adult creative writing workshop will be held. Registration is recommended for these workshops by calling +33 6 74 04 94 93 or emailing sylve.bourgeois@gmail.com. The Lire et Faire Lire Association will also offer reading sessions for children. The La Balançoire bookshop will be present throughout the event.

At dusk, a video mapping performance created by the Nouvelles Formes Association will be presented as a participatory project involving teenagers from the local Community of Municipalities.

This interactive show will allow every visitor to become part of the artwork.

Guided tours of the site and its museum will be offered every hour. Visitors can also enjoy refreshments and a snack bar, a carousel and games for children, and, to conclude the evening, music, songs, and dancing performed by Les Potes à Rose, featuring guitar, accordion, singing, and traditional dances.
