Vosges is a French department that is part of the Lorraine region. It is surrounded by the department of Meuse, Meurthe-et-Moselle, Bas-Rhin, Haut-Rhin, Territoire de Belfort, Haute-Saône and Haute-Marne. Main cities are Épinal Neufchâteau and Saint-Dié-des-Vosges.
Tourism in Vosges is about family holidays due to the numerous activities offered in the department. Thanks to the Vosges, strolls and hiking are possible in the forest and in the mountains by foot, bike or horse. Tourism is also strong in the Hautes-Vosges in the winter due to the presence of numerous ski resorts. Finally, the plain of Vosges focuses on Spa tourism, famous for mineral water such as Vittel and Contrexéville. Historical heritage consists of a Gallo-Roman arena dating from the 1st century and the Saint-Maurice Basilica in Epinal, the town of Saint-Dié-des-Vosges and its cathedral and monastery and the famous Tower of liberty, the Principality of Salm with its capital Senones, its abbey, monastery and the castles of Prince of Salm, the popular museum are the famous Epinal pictures museum, the museum of ancient and contemporary art and the museum of Chapitre.
