Tourism Montauban
Montauban is a town and capital of Tarn-et-Garonne department and Midi-Pyrénées region in France.
Its 57 000 inhabitants are called the Montalbanais. The town is mostly made out of red bricks. Montauban was created in 1144 by the Count of Toulouse.
The historical city centre is unspoiled by modern buildings and the old facades were built between the 17th and the 18th century. The town has been listed as ‘Historical and Artistic City’ by the French Minister of Culture and Communication. Also, every year in July, the town hosts the Montauban’s Jazz Festival.
