Tourism Mirepoix

Mirepoix is situated in the department of the Ariège and the region Midi-Pyrénées. 

The construction of the city as it is now back to the 14th century. Tourists may notice that the town of Mirepoix is structured around a particular diagram: around the central square of streets laid at right angles.

Around the square is half-timbered houses. They are made of wooden galleries which gives the impression of being faced with a covered porch. One of the nicest houses is the Maison des Consuls. The beams of this house are carved in some places. It is possible to see women, men wearing crowns, torues

Previously identified by the ramparts, the town had four gates for protection. Today it is possible to see the last door still standing: the Porte d'Aval.

Resides in the city of many artisans who invite you to discover their art. Events are held regularly. The most impressive is undoubtedly the great pageant which takes place in summer.
