Matagasse


The first days of spring, His Majesty Matagasse and exuberant procession sounding the party time to Thonon. Nearly thirty groups , in tanks and music through the city at the rate of explosive bands.

The word "matagasse" originates from the Piedmontese dialect "mataggazza" which means "crazy pie".

Every two years, His Majesty invites crazy, transvestites and other revelers Thonon and its surroundings to swell the ranks of the parade.
