The faubourg district

A district called 'le faubourg' was created on a Loire island in Charité-sur-Loire. The faubourg district developed between two branches of river Loire. At the very north of the island one can find the camping and in the south of the island, one can find the river wall called Chevrette that was build to direct the current of the river towards the old city harbour.

Bertranges forest is located less than 5 km from Charité-sur-Loire, and is the second oak tree forest in France after the Tronçais forest.
