Discover boé

An expanding city with more than 5,300 inhabitants, Boé has many shops, workshops, as well as an important agriculture and industrial economy.

Boé used to be a mariners and boatmen village, who used to sail up the river taking goods to Bordeaux.

You can also discover the only vestige of this activity that is the tower of Lacassagne dating from the 14th century located on the banks of the Garonne River.

Two churches remained, one in Boé called the Saint Sulpice church and one in St Pierre de Gaubert. In the latter one can admire a painting listed as a historical monument called 'La Résurrection de Tabitha' by painter Alexandre Laemelein dating from 1843.

Boé Village (in the south west): it is the historical administrative centre of the city,seat of the Town Hall. the old village is quiet and charming. The sun light reflecting on the river water is a beautiful scene.

Saint-Pierre-de-Gaubert (in the south east): Saint-Pierre-de-Gaubert includes the area of Cancelles, the geographic middle point of the region. Cancelles includes most of the sporting, technical and cultural infrastructures such as the sport centre 'Communauté d'agglomération d'Agen' and the François Mitterrand  cultural centre.

Boé Aquitaine (inthe north east): Boé Aquitaine is a developing sector with most major retailers and other commercial activities.

Boé-Cités (in the north-east): Boé-Cités means strolling by the canal, on the green road crossing the department. It is a haven of peace, under the shade of the oak trees of the Montalembert park and the nautical centre and the harbourmaster's office opened during summer time. You can also have a break in the new library.

In the plain of Boé, there are few countryside farms, manors and castles that were built and maintained by their owners who were the elite of the Agen society, and influent people of the region.
