Bouillac

Small village of 453 inhabitants perched at 200 meters of altitude, facing the valley of the Garonne where the terraces of Languedoc and the first steps of Gascogne meet.

There was formerly four churches in Bouillac. The church Saint Sulpice destroyed by the wars of religion, rebuilt, it disappeared without return to the Revolution. The church current, Notre Dame, located in the village burnt at XVIth century, rebuilt in 1632 and were enjolivée of a Gothic vault in 1860.

This brick building, with robust buttresses, rises a remarkable bell-tower wall of the XVIIth century and which is the most interesting part. Restored in 1954, this bell-tower wall is certainly most beautiful of Tarn and the Garonne with five arcades furnished with bells chacunes, divided into three levels. It finishes with a flanked triangular pinion of pyramids. This building is classified historic building.

The treasure of the abbey of GrandSelve is consisted seven reliquaries of vermeil of XIIIrd century. These parts, specimens of Languedocien art as regards religious goldsmithery, are exposed in a window of the vault of the church.
