Crécy-en-PonthieuCrécy-en-Ponthieu, is a small village of 1577 hearts, situated in the middle of Ponthieu Marquenterre.

Here you will appreciate the joys of the countryside, you will offer yourselves the pleasant moments of relaxation in the forest very close or you will profit from the activities at the seaside with one of most beautiful bays of the world to some 20 km.

You will be able to also discover an historical heritage and cultural rich from Crécy was the theatre of a famous battle whose date marks the beginning of the One hundred Year old War

With its 4323 ha, the national forest of Crécy constitutes the principal main forest of the department and the only one of this importance which is opened with the public.

Composed mainly the beeches and oaks, the national forest of Crécy offers a production of wooden work of quality. The beech with the whitewood of Crécy is particularly required. 22 remarkable trees out of the 30 classified into 1905 currently remain. The oldest, " the oak of Ramolleux" would have six centuries.

The wolves disappeared around 1869 to leave room with the roe-deers and wild boars. The other animals like the fox, the squirrel, the woodcock, the pheasant, the peak and the tube populate this forest.

For welcoming the walker better, many tourist installations have been carried out for a few years:

• 10 hikes marked out in yellow,
• 47 km rides marked out out of orange which can be borrowed by the VTT,
• A path ludo-sportsman made up of 18 workshops,
• A permanent course of Race of the Orientation,
• A circuit cyclist, the circuit of the geai which takes the forest roads on the 17 km of the loop B,
• The GR. 123 which crosses the forest in its part is,
• Many spaces picnic (approximately 60) where tables, benches, dustbins were installed to share a convivial meal under the best conditions.

You can rent the Forest Hut of the Ancient oaks for one evening, one day or a weekend: halt at the time of equestrian, pedestrian excursions or cyclists, taken care told, meetings of associations, natural departure of exit, pause lunch for the school camps… in the middle of the forest.

Composed a principal part with a chimney, this old relay of hunting is furnished to accomodate a dozen people (1 table and benches).

On the secondary road N° 56 which goes towards Fontaine on Maye, with the intersection of the dirt track, known as " Way of the Army" , raising a modest memorial which the upper part, in the shape of pattée cross would be contemporary battle.

This monument glorifie heroic end of Jean of Luxembourg. Learning the rout from the French Army, the king of Bohemia, with the orders of the rear-guard listen that its valiancy. Suffering from blindness, it is made attach to the horses of its companions and hurl with the combat.

 The Crécéen museum is a small structure, divided into two parts, which offers to the discovery for the visitor with its  interesting objects on different topics.

The first room is devoted to the battle of August 26, 1346, beginning of the 100 year old War. The weapons used at that time are exposed in the windows (reconstitution d' a crossbow…).

A model of the plan of the battle and many texts explain you this historical event of Crécy.

The second part is dedicated to the Second world war. You find there objects and memories, personnel and soldiers, who furnish the daily newspaper with the soldier.
