Enjoy the oceanic climate in belin beliet

Around the two old villages of Belin and Beliet, the forest houses scattered homes creating quarters.Each quarters corresponds to a old neighbourghood unit, to an old glade. The most important quarters are located in the north of the commune territory: Marguit, Lauray, Cavernes and Cés.

The Leyre River runs through the commune territory of Belin Beliet, a stream that is formed by the confluent of the Great and Little Leyre in Moustey (Landes). 

The Great Leyre is 60 km long and the small Leyre,50 km, the sources of these river is located in the Landes region, between Captieux and Morcenx for one, and near Luxey for the other.

The Saint Pierre-de-Mons church made of sandstone, possesses a Romanesque abside dating from the 11th century and has six capitals, a double nave and a barlongue tower dating from the 15th century and had a defensive purpose.

The surroundings monuments are the Saint-Clair fountain, an old cross in the cemetery and a obelisk.

The best way to discover the different places and sites in Belin Beliet (Rivers, forests and churches in Mons) is probably by bike. Numerous small forest roads allow pleasant rides from the village.

Other options: the department cycling tracks. These are running through the communal territories of Mios and Bazas. it is a great way to cycle in a secure way through village and the forest.
